TJ (Tyler) K

TJ holds a Master’s Degree in Music from the Conservatory of Music at the University of Missouri Kansas City, which he completed in December 2014. He also earned his Bachelor of Arts in Music in May 2008. During his time at UMKC, TJ studied Classical Guitar under virtuoso Douglas Niedt and Jazz Guitar with Rod Fleeman.

Before relocating to Colorado in 2024, TJ was an active musician in the Kansas City area, performing with a variety of bands. His career included touring, headlining shows, and opening for national acts. One of the standout moments of his touring experience was being invited to sit in with the Marshall Tucker Band.

A lifelong learner and passionate about the guitar, TJ enjoys exploring all genres of music and continuously expanding his knowledge of both guitar techniques and music theory. With years of teaching experience across various skill levels and styles, TJ brings a distinctive approach to improvisation and music theory that helps students unlock their full musical potential.
