TROMBONE LESSONS

TROMBONE LESSONS FOR ALL AGES & STYLES

Trombone Lessons Centennial Colorado

Welcome to Colorado Music Institute, where ALL are welcome!  We teach TROMBONE LESSONS for what YOU want to learn! Our Trombone teachers understand that every student is an individual, with personal musical needs and goals. We make it a priority to tailor how we teach and what we teach to your individual needs. If you enroll here for trombone lessons, your teacher will ask you about your favorite type of music, and set goals to help accomplish whatever musical aspirations you have for yourself or your child. Together, you will develop a plan to achieve your goals! We love beginners, so even if you don’t know where to begin, we are here to help!

We balance musicianship and fun by making sure that each lesson you are challenged with a new technique or theory concept, but always end with something fun such as your favorite sheet music or song. Once you or your child are ready to, you may attend one of our FREE recitals!

Unlike many other brass instruments, the Trombone has been mostly the same since its invention over 500 years ago. You essentially have one long metal tube bent in two places with a bell on one side and a ‘slide’ on the other. Thanks to its unique way of changing notes though (the slide), the Trombone was the first brass instrument ever to be able to play any possible note with relative ease. Centuries later the Trombone is right at home in any modern orchestra, jazz band, movie soundtrack, or rock band; just to name a few! The Trombone is a singular instrument with a beautifully vocal tone welcomed in nearly any musical setting. A great instrument for all ages and music styles!

We use a variety of Trombone method books to accomplish this and encourage students to help choose the music they want to learn. Our teachers can even help you with simple trombone setup or adjustments, like picking a mouthpiece that works well for you or trying a new instrument.

I DON’T HAVE ANY MUSICAL BACKGROUND OR ABILITY. CAN I STILL HELP MY CHILD PRACTICE?‍

Absolutely. Even if you don’t have a musical background you can ask the teacher for advice on how to help your child practice. By simply monitoring that they are doing exercises a certain number of times per day the student will progress. Parents will occasionally sit in on their child’s music lesson to get an idea of the proper way a song should sound or how the student should be positioning their hands.

WHAT WILL I LEARN IN TROMBONE LESSONS?

HOW LONG DOES IT TAKE TO LEARN TO PLAY TROMBONE?

There is no set answer of how long it takes to learn to play. With regular practice a basic level of playing can be accomplished in a few months. Most of our students take lessons on a long term basis because they want to be constantly improving and they find the lessons enjoyable.
