JORDAN S
Jordan grew up loving classical music in old cartoons, and later, the music of John Williams inspired him to begin piano lessons as a child. A talented pianist, Jordan won multiple competitions, played with orchestras and decided to become a composer at age 22. With hundreds of classical pieces under his belt, Jordan’s teaching philosophy focuses on simplicity.
He regularly has students start with simple, short books, and then moves them on to books of ever greater complexity, always ensuring they practice at their level without ever needing to struggle. Importantly, Jordan makes every lesson into a model practice session, which students remember when they sit down at the keyboard at home.
For those students who have mastered reading music and playing all the right notes, Jordan teaches them how to begin expressing themselves by experimenting with their own dynamics, articulations, and tempo changes, taking only the essence from the score and making the rest their own.
Jordan loves sharing his passion for music, and giving each student the best possible chance to make piano a joyous part of their life.
