Miss Katie has been working at CMI since November of 2022. She teaches piano, drums, and ukulele. In Greeley, she started training classical piano at age 8, because she was told piano lessons were required to play drums in the school band. Little did she know, she was going to fall in love with playing piano. Along the way, she picked up guitar, ukulele, cello, harp, various percussion instruments, production, and more. She has relentless musical nerdiness and a strong community of all types of musicians who keep her musical knowledge and techniques fresh. Miss Katie can guarantee that each lesson will include focused growth, silliness, and unforgettable stickers. Before teaching at CMI, she worked as a behavioral therapist with kids on the spectrum, at a hostel in Denver, as a property manager, a legal interpreter in LA, amongst other jobs. She speaks Spanish and rusty German. When she’s not teaching, Miss Katie is spending time training for and performing with the circus, locally and throughout the country. Occasionally, she can be found performing drums. When she grows up, she wants to be the drummer in an all girl punk/ metal band.
