KATIE K
Katie is a Colorado native and local band teacher. She has been playing flute for 15 years in addition to every band instrument over the last 5-10 years. Other musical areas she’s involved in outside of teaching are playing piano on her church’s worship team and teaching flute and trumpet with the Colorado Jazz Ambassadors. Katie discovered her passion for music in middle school and high school, which is the age range she predominantly teaches. She participated in many honor bands over the years, including marching in the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade three times. These many experiences are the reason she became a teacher.
Katie attended Colorado Christian University and received her Bachelor’s in Music Education in 2018.
Outside of teaching and playing music, Katie enjoys watching TV (especially listening to the scores), reading fantasy books, and taking walks with her husband and cats.
