Project Description

MERRIE D

Merrie is a passionate music educator, performer, and lifelong advocate for nurturing young talent and helping them to feel joy with music.
As the librarian at Ricks School for the Gifted, she knows each child personally and brings warmth, insight, and heart to the school community. A graduate of the University of Colorado with a degree in vocal performance and a former local actress and singer, Merrie brings stage experience, soulful musicianship, and embodied presence to every lesson and performance.

Merrie’s goal is to help students discover their natural voice—not through rigid pedagogy or repetition, but through careful observation, encouragement, and a holistic approach that honors mind, body, and spirit. Drawing inspiration from Emersonian self-discovery, she emphasizes emotional connection, authentic expression, and the transformative power of music, guiding students to develop confidence, creativity, and resonance both on stage and in life.
