MIKE G
Mike is a professional drummer, music instructor, audio engineer, and videographer.
Originally from St. Louis, Missouri, Mike has a B.A. in Music from Central Missouri State University where he studied both percussion with Dr. Michael Sekelsky and audio engineering with Dr. Eric Honour. He started playing drums when was 12 and has performed with countless bands throughout the years. Most recently, he has been performing with Golden based group Earl Nelson & The Company, drumming on their “New Square Deal” album and winning the “People’s Choice” nomination at the Throw Down Show at Infinity Park 2022,in Glendale, CO.
As an audio engineer, Mike has built his own recording studio over the years resulting in a hybrid digital/analog setup. This has allowed him to gain a working knowledge of proper recording techniques and familiarity with recording software,digital audio workstations, electronic drum kits, drum machines, sequencers, and MIDI Systems. He also has gained considerable real world experience running live sound for musicians, capturing their performance, and producing high quality audio and video recordings for their portfolios.
Lessons with Mike have the ability to span a wide and diverse range of musical genres, concepts, and applications. He is passionate about music and provides music lessons tailored specifically to each of his students in order to assist them in reaching their own musical goals.
