Project Description
WALKER H
Walker H welcomes students of all ages, backgrounds, and abilities seeking woodwind, brass, or piano lessons. His primary instruments of focus are the oboe, flute, bassoon, and piano.
Walker holds a Bachelor of Music Education degree from Metropolitan State University of Denver and is pursuing a career in teaching music. His musical journey includes teaching k-12 music classes; teaching private music lessons through Colorado Music Institute and beyond; performing in school and community bands, orchestras, and choirs; directing adult ensembles; volunteering as an audio technician; and studying music as a hobby.
When not teaching, you can find him hiking in the mountains, utilizing the local CrossFit gym, volunteering at his church, working for his family’s IT support and handyman businesses, or napping on the couch.
Walker is a music teacher at heart. He loves seeing students grow and discover their potential and purpose through music. At the same time, students inspire him to keep an open mind as he strives to become a better educator. His teaching philosophy emphasizes providing students with guidance as they discover their motivation for music.
As a Colorado native, Walker likes using mountain analogies when teaching:
“Everyone wants to live on top of the mountain, but all the happiness and growth occurs while you’re climbing it.” – Andy Rooney
